The decision ends Tucker’s $95 million dollar 10-year contract with the school.

MSU officials say they ended Mel Tucker’s contract for failing to abide by the contract’s stipulations.

In a letter sent Wednesday Allan Haller, vice president and director of MSU athletics, said Tucker’s behavior brought quote public disrespect, contempt and ridicule end quote to the school.

Tucker was suspended without pay earlier this month after a news report revealed MSU was investigating him for allegations of sexual harassment.

The complaint was filed by a sexual assault activist who had been working for the school when the alleged incident took place.

Haller has said regardless of whether the incident was consensual or not, Tucker should not have been engaging in a romantic relationship with an MSU vendor.

Next week, the school will hold a hearing to determine whether Tucker’s behavior violated the MSU’s Title IX policies.
