Aspen Surgical manufactures surgical tools and infection control products, based out of Caledonia.
Two years ago, it acquired Symmetry Surgical based in Nashville Tennessee.
Local leaders including The Right Place wanted to keep the company’s growth in West Michigan rather than at existing operations in Nashville.
Incentives included a $600,000 grant through the Michigan Business Development Program.
Aspen CEO Stefe Blazejewski says it just makes sense to stay in Caledonia for a lot of reasons.
”Because of great access to talent, because of the existing presence we have and also it was convenient. The facility we’re moving into for our expanded distribution center, its literally right across the street from where our headquarters is located.”
Aspen is making $5 million in capital investments, including upgrades to the buildings, adding equipment, and 75 new jobs.
