Grand Rapids police say they believe three murders in the southeast side neighborhood are connected. The victims were discovered yesterday a few hours and a few blocks apart.

Grand Rapids police chief Eric Winstrom says the first two victims, a young man and woman, were discovered in late morning in the street a few blocks apart:

“Two individuals laying in the street with blood on the faces to bloodied bodies in the street and we don't have an explanation for it.”

A third victim, another male, was found close by in late afternoon. Detectives are looking for witnesses and surveillance camera video to help them identify suspects. Police believe the killer and the victims knew one another.

“This appears to be a very targeted, very personal and I don't believe it's random in nature. And I don't believe that anybody else has anything to be to be fearful of.”
