Two Nigerian men extradited in the sextortion death of a Marquette teen are set to be arraigned in Grand Rapids federal court this afternoon

Samuel and Samson Ogoshi of Lagos are charged with sexually exploiting hundreds of minors in Michigan and across the U.S.

Samuel is also charged with sexual exploitation resulting in death. He’s accused of using a hacked Instagram account last year to get a sexually explicit image from 17-year-old Jordan DeMay, then threatening to post it online if Jordan didn’t send him money.

When Jordan didn’t have the full amount, he took his own life.

Devin Kowalski is with FBI Michigan. He says they worked with Nigerian officials and are pursuing justice for Jordan:

“And make no mistake—charges of this type brought against subjects outside the United States are rare. Securing extradition of these subjects is even more rare.”

Officials are working to extradite a third Nigerian man connected to the case.
