Prosecutors say the enormity of Ethan Crumbley’s crime demands he spend the rest of his life in prison

Prosecutors used video and photos from the scene of the shooting to illustrate the calculation they say Crumbley used to kill students at Oxford High School and traumatize a community.

Assistant principal Kristy Gibson-Marshall testified that she talked to Crumbley while he was in the midst of the massacre, then became covered in blood as she tried to help a student he’d just shot; Tate Myre.

MARSHALL: “Took me months…probably almost a year…to get the taste of Tate’s blood out of my mouth.”

The defense countered that adolescent brains are still developing well into their 20’s and have the capacity to be rehabilitated.
