Grand Rapids police are investigating a Tuesday evening gunfire incident on the city’s southwest side that resulted in two separate crime scenes.

Police say officers responded to a report of harassment in the 100 block of Dickinson Street just before 9 p.m. on Tuesday.

Gunshots were reportedly fired close to the location of a GRPD sergeant at the scene of the initial report.

Police say an investigation led them to a house on the 300 block of Dickinson, where suspects were believed to have fled.

The department says the sergeant was not likely a target, and no injuries were reported.
