Authorities say the death of a young man is under investigation following a weekend fire at a duplex in Grand Rapids.

Police say the fire started early Sunday and several people were in the duplex at the time.

They say all but one made it out safely.

Sarah Dagley tells WOOD-TV she was told by police there's no indication of foul play in the death of her son, 20-year-old Devin Jay Lomax-Dagley.

Lomax-Dagley's loved ones say they're awaiting official confirmation from dental records and DNA of his identity.

Dagley describes her son as "eccentric" and a "free spirit."

She says she doesn't think anyone would want to hurt him.

Investigators haven't announced a cause of death or determined what caused the fire.
