Ethan Crumbley was 15 years old when he shot and killed four classmates and injured seven others in 2021.
The teen initially pled guilty to murder, terrorism, and many other charges. Crumbley later tried to withdraw that plea and go to trial, but was denied by the trial judge. He was sentenced to life without the possibility of parole.
Now, the Michigan Supreme Court is asking the state court of appeals to examine the factors that went into Crumbley’s sentencing, and whether he should have the opportunity for parole.
Crumbley remains incarcerated in a Northern Michigan prison.
