City of Grand Rapids Third Ward Vacancy, the Rockford Public Schools Orchestras, Pathways to Promise, and West Michigan Works!

The City of Grand Rapids announces the finalists for a Third Ward Vacancy. We talk to City Commissioner Kelsey Perdue, Committee on Appointments Chair, running the appointment process about the process of filling the seat.

The Rockford Public Schools Orchestras will perform March 1, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the program. A new piece has been commissioned, Rockford Rejoice, with Orchestra Director Kyle Pitcher with today’s conversation and milestone discussion.

We talk about the topic of Companionship, workshops happen in the area with the next in March. On behalf of Pathways to Promise, Mark Stephenson and Laura Jonker talk about the mission of companionship and leading the workshops.

Awards have been awarded. West Michigan Works! recognized 10 area frontline workers with the Beverly Drake Essential Service Awards. We talk about their importance with awardee Marolyn Lopez and Works!’ Mark Bergsma.
