By Leaps & Bounds: What Does It Mean to Be Ready by 5?

Our guest is Amy Turner-Thole.

Between birth and age 5, children experience the most rapid brain growth and development than at any other time in their lives. In fact, 90% of a child's brain development takes place by age 5. During this time, research has shown how impactful children's experiences are on their future well-being and success. Investments in early childhood programming, education, and services create long-term savings for communities in child welfare, in healthcare, education and law enforcement costs, and lead to a stronger workforce. The vision for Kent County's early childhood system is that "every young child in Kent County will enter kindergarten healthy and ready to succeed in school and life." We're joined by Amy Turner-Thole with the Ready by 5 Early Childhood Millage to learn more. For more information, visit: https://www.firststepskent.org/ or https://yesreadyby5.com/ .
