By Leaps & Bounds: Early Care and Education

Vibrant Futures
Vibrant Futures

As we continue looking at why Normal Was Never Enough, we examine pathways to building a more equitable child care system. Our guest today on By Leaps & Bounds is Chana Edmond-Verley, CEO, Vibrant Futures and Vice-Chair, Great Start Collaborative of Kent County.

All young children need loving relationships, a nurturing environment, quality health care, and stimulating learning experiences. Evidence-based services and supports are proven to help parents be the best parents they can be and help children arrive at school healthy, developmentally on track, and ready to learn.

However, the system we currently have in place for early care and education is not working equitably for families, educators, care providers, or even children. As we continue looking at why Normal Was Never Enough, we examine pathways to building a more equitable child care system.
