The Ottawa County Prosecutor’s Office filed 23 charges against Austin Hapner on Friday.
They include four counts of aggravated child sexually abusive activity, 12 counts of capturing images of an unclothed person, four counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, and three counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
The charges are related to Hapner’s employment at the Children’s Enrichment Center on Grand Valley State University’s Allendale campus.
These are in addition to 39 similar charges in Kent County announced earlier related to his employment at Gro Childcare Academy in Grand Rapids and as a babysitter in private homes.
The investigation began in August after an international tip from Norwegian police who uncovered child pornography in a messaging app traced to Hapner.
More charges are possible as investigators continue to search Hapner’s phone and computers records for evidence.
Hapner remains in custody in Kent County and is scheduled to be arraigned in Ottawa County next week.
