“They just thought they could get a lot of really good clips out of the Grand Haven area for their commercials.”
Grand Haven Waterfront Event Manager Brian Jarosz says the Toyota team originally planned to just feature the Grand Haven musical fountain in their marketing campaign.
“As the marketing got out here and started seeing more of Grand Haven they started falling in love with more possible shots.”
In a presentation to city council Jarosz said the schedule now includes the fountain, city beach, and bicentennial park. Council member Erin Lyon thinks it’s good publicity.
“I think it’s great to get our town on a national map in a good way.”
Council member Sarah Kallio says the nation will see the city’s unique assets.
“Love the fact they want to highlight the musical fountain. How did they find us? Some of their employees are from the area and they were just looking for really interesting cool spots for their next wave of commercials.”
The shoot is scheduled for October second, the commercials to air in the spring of 2027. Mayor Bob Monteza is already a Toyota fan.
“I drive a Prius so I’m pretty happy with Toyota. I want my car in this.”
Councilman Michael Fritz thinks this could lead to other show business opportunities for Grand Haven.
“Get a little promotion here and a movie might be next set. Got to dream a little bit.”
