Kent County Sheriff’s Officials say following a months-long investigation by the Kent Area Narcotics Enforcement Team led to two search warrants in the City of Wyoming in late August.
From there, the investigation resulted in nearly five kilos of cocaine, more than 50-thousand dollars in cash, weapons and more.They say two people were arrested and have now been charged with multiple felonies.
Authorities say cocaine remains a significant concern in Kent County and with drug trends changing, they’re seeing cocaine become increasingly common.
They add that it is also not uncommon for cocaine to be found alongside fentanyl, creating an additional risk for the community.
The news release from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office says large seizures don’t just remove drugs and firearms but seizing cash and assets connected to drug trafficking can disrupt the criminal networks in our area.
They encourage and ask that anyone with information regarding drug trafficking, drug sales, or other illegal activity contact the Kent County Sheriff’s Office Investigative Division or Silent Observer.
