For Grant Public Schools, if approved, the renewed millage would allow the district to collect around $1.8 million in 2027

Residents in Muskegon County’s Grant and Reeths-Puffer school districts will decide on millages supporting day-to-day operations.

The proposals are renewals that would allow the district to levy the statutory rate not to exceed 18 mills, or $18 on each $1,000 of taxable valuation, on all non-homestead property from 2027 through 2030. Only properties such as second homes, businesses, commercial and rental properties would be required to pay the millage.

For Grant Public Schools, if approved, the renewed millage would allow the district to collect around $1.8 million in 2027.

According to its website, the funding accounts for nearly 9% of the district’s operating budget and would be used to support utilities and building operations, classroom materials, transportation, and staffing.

Reeths-Puffer Public Schools are seeking approval of a non-homestead millage, asking voters to renew 17.0586 mills from 2027 through 2032.

If approved, the district would collect approximately $3.7 million in 2027.
