The Gerald R. Ford International Airport will receive $6,000,000 in federal funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation.
The funding supports upgrades to the Concourse B terminal building, where four airlines access eight gates. Upgrades include family-centric security rooms and restrooms, as well as energy-efficiency and accessibility improvements.
President and CEO of the Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority Tory Richardson stated, “As part of the national, once-in-a-generation investment in infrastructure, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law is helping offset the cost of critical airport improvements for Michigan travelers.”
This follows two previous federal funding amounts awarded to the airport in the amounts of $8.6 million in 2024 and $2.4 million in 2025.
The Gerald R. Ford International Airport served 4.3 million passengers last year, a third straight record year.
