Essence Hospitality Group is donating a portion of specialty drink proceeds to support Hope Network.
The healthcare network assists 39,000 people across Michigan in behavioral health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and mental illness.
Jaime Counterman is Hope’s Chief Advancement Officer.
“Hope Network operates four Centers for Autism across the state of Michigan, which helps kids all the way up until 18, and they're able to help them with our ADA therapy, and which is customize personal therapy for each individual learner, and will help them in whatever social, educational, sometimes, occupational needs that they have as a part of their daily living.”
The initiative, running at Lucy’s, Bistro Bella Vita, and Grove, is fueled by a personal connection with staff member, Shelly Berg.
Her son, Dylan, has received life-changing therapy through the centers.
One drink is named The Dylan.
“There are cocktails, mocktails, and coffee beverages. I got to go just a couple of weeks ago and watch them make all of these beverages at each of the locations. It's so fun. Most of them have a blue base and they are just beautiful and creative and very thoughtful.”
The promotion runs through April 30, the end of Autism Awareness Month.
