Advocates gathered in downtown Grand Rapids to foster inclusion, connection and community for those affected by autism

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, autism affects 1 in 31 children, underscoring the importance of accessible care and community support.

The annual Bridge Walk marks West Michigan’s largest community-wide celebration of Autism Acceptance Month with a record crowd of more than 2000 people in 2025 to support those affected by autism.

The evening features a community walk across the Blue Bridge then transitions to a sensory-friendly experience at the Grand Rapids Public Museum with adjusted lighting, reduced noise levels and interactive activities tailored to those with sensitivities.

The goal is to inspire inclusion, connection and family friendly fun.

Hope Network’s Centers for Autism provide diagnostic evaluations, evidence-based therapies, and specialized services across Michigan.
