They received seven proposals for the sites from developers, community groups, non-profits and one individual.
Proposals for Alexander include a community-centered nonprofit campus, a mixed-use development with childcare, youth programming, community services plus residential units, and two proposals for affordable housing developments.
Proposals for Stocking include use as affordable multi-family housing. a community hub with common areas, educational workforce training, health services, food pantry, kitchen and housing units, and plans for a wellness center for physical and occupational therapy, speech and mental health services plus a kids’ club.
The facilities plan is part of the “Reimagine GRPS with Us!” initiative to ensure sustainable uses for underutilized district properties that will continue to be assets for local neighborhoods.
