The 61st District Court serves Grand Rapids, handling a range of matters including criminal misdemeanors, civil infractions, felony preliminary exams, landlord-tenant disputes, and small claims cases.

Its new website allows users to more easily navigate essential tasks, speak virtually with a court clerk, and access the site in over 22 different languages.

The site offers these new tools in a fully mobile-responsive layout. Other key features include a real-time hearing schedule to instantly check court dates, a 24/7 question and answer chat assistant, and a community resource hub connecting residents to various external support services.

In a statement, Chief Judge Angela T. Ross said, “Through continued innovation and a focus on service, we are cultivating a court that opens more doors – making it easier for people to understand, navigate, and engage with the justice system.”
