Historic Spillman Carousel set to reopen at Grand Rapids Public Museum

The mechanics of the carousel and its figures were renovated

The Grand Rapids Public Musuem has revealed that it’s history Spillman Carousel and the Cook Carousel Pavillion will be reopening to the public on Friday, February 13th

Dale Robertson, President & CEO of the Grand Rapids Public Museum says, “The Spillman Carousel is a living artifact,” adding, “It took a wonderful group of partners to make this restoration and renovation possible. Every detail reflects our shared commitment to preserving history while creating fun, memorable learning experiences for all of our guests.”
 
The Museum will also unveil new accessibility enhancements. This includes the introduction of a carousel chariot designed to allow individuals using wheelchairs and other mobility devices to enjoy the attraction.
