Experience Grand Rapids, the marketing organization for the Kent County area, released a new video called “Dream Grand and Grow” at the Economic Club of Grand Rapids.
“We have two local actresses that are in the video kayaking down the river, and then you see kind of the magic come to life and the Grand Rapids landscape starts to transform into our animated world.”
Kate Lieto, Experience Grand Rapids’ Vice President of Marketing, says the video was created by local company Ideology Productions, highlighting seven projects along the Grand River corridor.
Those include Acrisure Amphitheater, Lyons Square riverfront plaza, the Amway soccer stadium, the public museum’s riverfront expansion, the Fulton and Market mixed-use development along with the greenway trail network and the rapids restoration in the river itself.
“There's over $1.2 billion of river-centric investment flowing through downtown Grand Rapids that’s planned. So we’re looking to celebrate that. This is a project to really help visualize that as a whole.”
The video is designed to get the word out to potential visitors and meeting planners, driving economic impact from tourism.
“Our team is selling Grand Rapids and Kent County as a convention destination nationwide all year long and they're booking years in advance. So, we're really looking at using this to show those meeting planners, if you're maybe booking for the year 2028, here's what you can expect. Here's what it's going to look like.”
“Dream Grand and Grow” is available now at ExperienceGR.com/Grow and on Experience Grand Rapids’ social media channels.
