Now in its third year, Operation Green Light is a nationwide initiative

Kent County Veterans Services has announced the launch of this year’s Operation Green Light initiative. And with that will distribute 2,000 green light bulbs to light the county in support of veterans.

From November 4 - 11, residents and local businesses are encouraged to swap out their outdoor lights for green bulbs to show support for military veterans and highlight the resources Kent County Veterans Services offers.

Now in its third year, Operation Green Light is a nationwide initiative.

The week-long observation culminates with the annual United Veterans Council of Kent County’s annual Veterans Day Parade on November 11. in downtown Grand Rapids.
Ryan Grams, Director of Kent County Veterans Services says, “Operation Green Light is a powerful, visible moment of unity, and its importance for our veterans cannot be overstated.”

Residents can pick up a free green light bulb for any Kent District or Grand Rapids Public Library branch as well as at the Kent County Veterans Services on Fuller NE.
And again, Operation Green Light runs from November 4th through Veterans Day, November 11th.
