The $45 million facility will serve patients who previously had to travel elsewhere to receive specialized care

The $45 million Westpark Specialty Center will be built on property Holland Hospital owns at its campus in Zeeland, in collaboration with U-M Health.

Holland Hospital CEO Patti VanDort says the first floor will house services that complement and enhance current offerings.

“That includes a radiology advanced radiology services diagnostics like MRI and CT ultrasound, x-ray. We're going to have a laboratory center there as well, an infusion clinic
and a specialty pharmacy.”

University of Michigan Health will operate on the second floor, offering specialized care from physicians from the Ann Arbor-based academic medical center and UM-Health providers.

VanDort says research identified the types of patient care lacking in the region.

The new outpatient center is designed to bridge that gap.

“Pediatric specialties and subspecialties, neuroscience subspecialties, endocrinology, dermatology which we have a real access issue around here in our local community.”

A groundbreaking ceremony is set for next week.

The Westpark Specialty Center is anticipated to open in 2027.
