Kid’s Food Basket is inviting the community to an open house to explore their new, expanded location in Muskegon.
There will be tours and an opportunity to learn more about KFB’s mission to nourish kids with the goal of helping them reach their full potential.
The event will include learning about and signing up for KFB volunteerism, kid-friendly STEM games, apple taste tests and more.
In a news release, KFB says it completed the purchase of the building in January in response to a Muskegon community call for expanded operations on the lakeshore. After renovations, the organization moved into the facility in September.
KFB says since moving in, it has increased Muskegon operations by 300 daily Sack Suppers, which are healthy evening meals that are distributed to local kids each weekday, totaling 2,300 daily meals in Muskegon County. The organization anticipates an additional increase as capacity is evaluated during the school year.
The new facility is located at 2330 Barclay Street and the open house will be held October 9th from 3-7 pm.
