“Similar to the police citizen academy, our ambassador academy.”
And just like the city’s Police Citizen Academy gives participants a behind the scenes look at law enforcement, city manager Keith Van Beek says the Holland Ambassador Academy presents weekly classes on city government.
“Inviting primarily residents to take a look at the entirety of the city operations.”
Classes meet September through December. During the 10 free weekly sessions students learn more about operations at city hall. parks and recreation, streets, finance, public works and more.
“Learn a little bit more about their city.”
This is the second year the city is holding an Ambassador Academy, and for those interested but too late to enroll, another session is planned in 2026.
