Baker College in Muskegon wants to bring back former students to finish their degree with a new debt forgiveness program

The new program is called “Return to the Hive,” and it aims to break down financial barriers by giving students who didn’t complete their degree the chance to return to Baker College while offering 100% institutional debt forgiveness.

Eligible students must have last attended Baker College two or more years ago. Students who return must pursue a certificate or degree, attend at least half-time, and meet the financial aid Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements or have an approved appeal.

Debt forgiveness is applied in two phases: 50% after successful completion of the first semester, and the remaining 50% after successful completion of the second semester. Students who complete their degree in one semester are eligible for 100% debt forgiveness upon graduation.

Baker is also waiving the application fee to make the process more accessible for returning students.
