Michigan State Police say a teen who was struck and killed by a vehicle over the weekend was intentionally in the roadway.
Just before midnight on Saturday, July 5th, troopers with the Michigan State Police responded to eastbound I-196 near the 44th Street overpass after receiving reports of a crash.
There, troopers found a 16-year-old male from the Grandville area who had been hit by a vehicle. MSP stated the teen died at the scene and his name was not made public.
Sunday, MSP was looking for information as to why the teen may have been on the highway. By Monday afternoon, authorities confirmed the teen was in the roadway intentionally.
