It's part of a 6-million-dollar ten-year technology update Wyoming is buying from Axon

“The AI technology is just amazing, the amount of efficiency.”

By writing their reports Wyoming Public Safety chief Kimberly Koster says artificial intelligence will give officers more time to patrol and investigate crime.

“Then they have time to work on other cases.”

Artificial intelligence is part of the 6-million-dollar ten-year technology update Wyoming is buying from Axon, the industry leader in tasers and police body cameras.

“Save officers countless hours they spend writing reports, spend more time in the field.”

Axon sales representative Kyle Hites says the new body cam AI technology will even translate when officer and citizen don’t speak the same language.

“Translate multiple languages in real time so an officer who is maybe primarily an English speaker, gives them the ability to use the body worn camera as a translator so they can understand the situation at hand.”

Chief Koster says Wyoming officers started wearing body cams in 2020 and they are now essential equipment.

“Body cameras came with some skepticism at first. I don’t think there is an officer in the area who would want to work on the street today without a body cam.”
