Music, dancing and food – the Ukrainian Society of Michigan is hosting a fundraising event offering a night of culture, connection and community action.
Executive Director and Co-Founder Anna Kovalenko.
“You'll be immersed in our culture, you'll get to taste delicious Ukrainian food, you'll get to meet Ukrainian people. We have also Ukrainians who have crafted some items and donated them to be sold at the auction so that more money could be raised for the cause.”
Money for two critical causes: first, for portable ultrasound units frontline medics can use saving lives on the front line largely near Grand Rapids’ Sister City of Dnipro, and secondly for services to help the estimated 300 displaced Ukrainians in West Michigan.
“They have been living through this hell of war with adjusting and trying to integrate and be vital members to this community.”
The event is Thursday, May 29 from 6 to 9 in Kentwood, tickets and details are on the Ukrainian Society of Michigan website where visitors can donate even if they cannot attend.
“This is a really important fundraiser for all of us and we will be glad to see you there and to get to know you and to make a stronger community for us all. “
