“America Saves Week” annual campaign begins

The Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services is encouraging Michiganders to review their finances and set savings goals

America Saves Week runs until Friday. During this week, the Michigan Department of Insurance and Financial Services or DIFS, is encouraging Michiganders to not only set savings goals but also come up with a plan to achieve them to ensure financial stability.

America Saves Week is an annual campaign supported by thousands of organizations nationwide as a call to action for consumers to commit to saving successfully and improve their financial wellness.

DIFS Director Anita Fox says quote, “America Saves Week is a great time to perform a financial check-up by reviewing accounts, personal and family budgets, and finding opportunities to save.” end quote.

A news release says, Michiganders can start their savings goals by opening an account with a bank or credit union if they do not already have one. Through a partnership, Michiganders can access certified low- or no-cost accounts.

Throughout America Saves Week, DIFS is sharing content on X, Facebook, and LinkedIn to highlight the importance of saving and to offer motivation.
