Phase 1 was completed in 2016. Located near John Ball Zoo, it’s receiving funding for additional improvements. The city’s Parks and Recreation Department is seeking the public’s input

The budget for the project is $1.1 million and includes the cost of design and construction, but a portion of the budget will also be used to make safety and accessibility upgrades, including ADA and aesthetic improvements to the restrooms, as well as safety upgrades to the park’s lodge. Accessible walkways will also be installed around the lodge and throughout the park.

A major focus; removing the current parking lot on the corner of Garfield Avenue and Jackson Street and constructing a new lot off Marion Avenue.

The public can give feedback on the project by taking a survey, which is open until March 7th. A link to that can be here.
