116 workers lose jobs as Muskegon company closes

A manufacturing company near Muskegon will be closing its doors in March and laying off all its employees

Michigan Spring & Stamping of Muskegon filed what’s called a WARN notice with the state, announcing the company will wind down and close business operations at its facility on Wickham Drive in Muskegon by mid-March.

The notice also included the announcement of a mass layoff of all 116 employees.

Court filings in Muskegon County show General Motors will finance the company’s remaining work to reduce disruptions to production for GM and other suppliers, possibly extending work into June.
