“We are very close to breaking ground hope to do that in the next month, month and a half.”

Mike Hausman of Lakeshore Hotel Partners says the new Marriott near Muskegon Lake is another piece of the company’s Harbor 31 housing, retail and hotel development.

“Quite ecstatic about trying to move this forward,”

“A five-story building 132 rooms it will have a restaurant fitness center and an indoor pool.”

Muskegon Economic Development analyst Contessa Alexander says the project will put people to work building and operating the hotel.

“50 jobs and 250 construction jobs during development.”

The hotel will be near the trail along Muskegon Lake

“Do you anticipate connecting to the trail because the Lakeshore Trail goes right by there absolutely, we see that as a nice component and a benefit to people staying at the hotel.”

The Marriott is part of 130-million-dollar hotel, housing, and senior living development Lakeshore Hotel Partners is building on 31 acres. In an update to the city commission Hausman says construction is about 50 percent finished.

“Your staff is amazing so it’s a real pleasure.”
