Cost of auto insurance is the main concern

Bills to make sure insurance companies are paying for the treatment that severely injured car crash survivors receive have been stuck in committee for over a year after passing the state Senate.

Democratic House Speaker Joe Tate says a main concern is the cost of auto insurance:

“We want to make sure that, you know, anything that we do in particular around although no fault doesn't raise rates, you know, unintentionally on on those that have other insurance. So I think it's something that, you know, will continue to progress.”

Some care providers say the 2019 law slashed reimbursement rates so much that they couldn't stay in business.
