The cruising season is expected to see an increase

Expect more cruise ships on the Great Lakes in 2025.

Next year’s cruising season is expected to see an increase over 2024, delivering more port visits, passengers, and a positive economic impact to the region overall.

According to Cruise the Great Lakes, cruises are expected to welcome over 22,000 individual passengers in 2025, a 10% increase over this year, along with regional port visits, up 30% from 2023. The total number of cruise passenger visits across the region is expected to exceed 150,000.

The economic impact of Great Lakes cruising next year is expected to exceed $230 million as well, which is a 15% increase over this year. Cruise the Great Lakes expects the ongoing expansion of Great Lakes cruising will lead to higher shoreside spending and a rise in pricing premiums.

This year alone, two different cruise lines made a total of fifteen stops at the Muskegon port.
