Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer announced funding to fix roads in 28 villages and small cities across the state, including five in West Michigan

The funding, totaling $5.1 million, comes from the Community Service Infrastructure Fund Category B program, which was established in 2018 and is administered by the Michigan Department of Transportation.

Two cities in Allegan County received $250,000 each. The city of Martin will use its funding to repair Templeton, University, Edwards, Chalmers, and Lee Streets. In Saugatuck, repairs will be made to Maple Street.

In Ottawa County, Hudsonville received $209,000 for repairs on Corporate Grove Drive and Corporate Exchange Drive.

In Montcalm County, the city of Stanton received almost $92,000 for repairs to East Bellevue Street.

And Berrien Springs in Berrien County received over $192,000 for Mechanic Street.

Projects were selected, in part, based on previously planned infrastructure work, coordinated with other road agencies, focused on extending the useful life of the road and had limited funding sources.
