Corewell officials and community stakeholders broke ground on the expansion at the Greenville Hospital Cancer Care Center. The expansion will be almost completely funded by a donation from the family of late, local philanthropist, Bill Braman.
According to Braman’s son, his father’s generosity was in response to the care his family and the community had received from the health care center. Three members of the Braman family have received care at the cancer center over the years.
The expansion plans to renovate and enhance infusion and exam capacity to the current available space to accommodate the growing demand for cancer care in the area.
The new facility will include 12 infusion bays, four exam rooms with two spaces for sleep studies, and a new wellness and education center. That center will offer acupuncture, massage, yoga, music and art therapy as well as wig services and a salon.
The W.H. Braman Cancer Care Center is expected to be completed in 2025.
