All money raised at The Vibe event will go toward purchasing new equipment

Our adaptive recreation programs provide empowering and enriching opportunities for people of all abilities.”

Ann Przybysz is the Recreation Program Coordinator for Kentwood. She says the city prides itself on being able to offer recreational opportunities to people of all abilities, both in and outside of Kentwood.

“So, we have participants with physical disabilities, social and emotional disabilities as well, and they can take part in activities that can be adapted to provide safe and fun experiences.”

Some of those experiences include archery, golf, pickleball, and water skiing, along with a dozen more programs, all adapted to meet the special needs of the individual.

To help fund these specialized activities, Kentwood’s Parks and Recreation Department is hosting their annual fundraiser, The Vibe. All money raised at this year’s event will go toward purchasing new equipment for the city’s adaptive recreation program.

“Many of our participants are Kentwood residents, but we also serve the greater Grand Rapids area as well, and we love being able to show how valued and important all of our community members are and be able to provide for each person’s needs.”

The Vibe happens on September 19th and tickets can be purchased online at Kentwood.us/Vibe.
