Today more Latinos than ever before are eligible to vote in Michigan, but registration rates for the group remain low.
Diana Rivera is with the local nonprofit Latino Leaders for the Enhancement of Advocacy and Development. She says political campaigns only seem interested in talking to Latinos when it’s campaign season.
“The candidates will come and they'll talk at events and and say what they're going to do and don't do it…that that holds true.”
There are more than 300,000 eligible Latino voters in Michigan, however less than half are registered to vote.
