National Republican Party officials say they are training roughly 100-thousand volunteers to serve as poll watchers in battleground states

Republicans say they will station observers and attorneys in 15 states, including political battlegrounds like Michigan.

In 2020 Detroit election officials removed some GOP observers they claimed had caused a disturbance.

But Republican National Committee co-chair Michael Whatley vows the volunteers will respect the voting process.

“If they see anything than they are allowed to raise that issue with the officials running the election, then they can call into our war rooms and we can have other conversations as necessary. But it is absolutely to serve as observers only.”

Some Democrats say the GOP effort to the “integrity” of voting feeds into the false narrative of widespread fraud in the last presidential election.
