Leaders are asking the public to complete a survey. A new logo and brand could be ready for consideration by the city commission this summer

“When we are talking about a brand we are talking about the way we present our organization something that makes us instantly recognizable to our residents to our visitors it’s the city of Muskegon’s image.”

Muskegon Community Engagement Manager Deborah Santiago Sweet is working with a marketing company to develop a new logo and a brand for the city.

“One thing people can look for.”

And to help them decide, they are asking the public to complete a survey, rating the city’s friendliness, diversity, landmarks, arts, parks and beach.

“Incorporating community feedback and engagement in the rebranding process to ensure we have enough public input and feedback.”

The citizen survey is on the city website. A previous effort to rebrand Muskegon failed for lack of agreement. Commissioner Rachel Gorman is optimistic this time will be different.

“I’m excited to getting this going and looking forward to seeing what happens.”

“A community informed and driven process that will create a rebranding for our city we can be proud of.”

The deadline to fill out the survey is April 19th. A new logo and brand could be ready for consideration by the city commission this summer.
