Tomorrow marks the one-year anniversary of a tragedy that occurred at Michigan State University.

Last year on February 13, a gunman entered campus, killing three students and injuring five others.

MSU is not holding class tomorrow. The university is holding several events to honor the victims of the shooting.

The school has a day of service planned through the afternoon. Later in the evening, MSU is hosting a remembrance gathering and a candle lighting ceremony.

Interim President Teresa Woodruff says the MSU community is continuing its healing journey:

“all of us, including myself, are on different paths, have various different emotions. And I think for all of us, we're looking toward the future. And certainly as Spartans come together to hold each other up, I think that is part of what Spartans do.”

Woodruff says MSU is in the process of selecting a permanent campus memorial to commemorate the February 13 incident. She says a decision could be made later this year.
