The day after delivering her sixth State of the State address, Governor Gretchen Whitmer began making stops to promote her 2024 agenda.

The governor’s first stop was Benton Harbor, where she met with city and business leaders and toured a housing development. The purpose was to call attention to her plan to spend one-point-four billion dollars to build or rehabilitate nearly 10 thousand affordable homes across the state.

“Governor Whitmer is going to be traversing the state of Michigan to highlight the proposals she outlined in State of the State.”

Those also include two years of tuition-free community college for all high school graduates and a variety of business incentives to attract employers or encourage hiring. More details will also be rolled out when the governor presents her budget proposal on February 7th.
