Attorneys for Jennifer Crumbley argue the judge should block testimony from witnesses who spoke at her son’s hearings

Prosecutors charged James and Jennifer Crumbley because they allegedly ignored their son’s requests for counseling and instead bought him the gun he used to kill four classmates at Oxford High School in 2021.

The shooter, Ethan Crumbley, was sentenced to life without parole last month.

Now, in a court filing, attorneys for Jennifer Crumbley argue the judge should block “excruciatingly painful testimony” from several witnesses who spoke at her son’s hearings.

That includes a teacher shot by Ethan Crumbley, an assistant principle who tried to resuscitate a student, and a classmate who narrowly escaped from being killed in a bathroom.

Defense attorneys argue the parents did not pull the trigger and hearing testimony about the shooting would un-fairly inflame the passions of the jury.
