On the evening of August 3rd, 2023 detectives with the KCSO Human Trafficking Task Force (HTTF) & Kent Area Narcotics Team conducted an undercover operation targeting the commercial sex industry. The operation was conducted along the 28th St corridor in Cascade Township. Seven Michigan men and one Indiana man were arrested on charges of solicitation for prostitution at an area hotel. The suspects were lodged at the Kent County Jail and are scheduled to be arraigned in the 63rd District Court.
The KCSO continues to work to prevent human trafficking through operations such as this. The investigation remains open as detectives continue learning more after the arrests were made.
