Police not saying if an arrest has been made

Authorities on the lakeshore are investigating after the shooting death of a 15-year-old teen in Muskegon Wednesday morning.

According to the Muskegon Police Department, officers were called to the 1400th block of Jiroch street after reports of a gunshots in the area.

When police arrived, first responders found a 15-year-old male who had been shot in the chest, tragically, the boy died at the scene.

In a statement, the Muskegon Department of Public Safety extended their deepest sympathies to everyone involved in this tragedy.

Police would not say if an arrest had been made, only that the investigation is ongoing.
