Mel Trotter Ministries resumes its annual Community Easter Meal

Mel Trotter Ministries

After being on hold for a couple of years, Mel Trotter Ministries will again be hosting an Easter meal for the community.

Mel Trotter Ministries annual Easter meal has been on hold since 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. But this year, it’s making a full come back.

Here’s Mel Trotter Chief Advancement Officer, Beth Fisher.

“We obviously took a hiatus during the COVID times and we’re happy to be back in action. So it’s April 5th, at 4:30 in our cafeteria. And it’s a very special time for us, being a faith-based organization.”

Mel Trotter expects to host about 500 people at the event. Fisher says not only does it provide a good, solid meal, but it also offers an opportunity for those who are homeless, to not be alone.

“Many of them are experiencing, not just homelessness, but loneliness. So it’s extremely important to sit around a table with other individuals and just be together and share space, a good meal and share good conversation.”

Many of those in attendance will be those who stay at Mel Trotter but Fisher says all are welcome. The meal again is Wednesday, April 5th from 4:30 to 6 at Mel Trotter’s Cook Cafeteria on Commerce. Fisher adds, with the high number of people they are expecting, they could use some additional volunteers. If you’re interested, she says you can go to their website, at meltrotter.org/volunteer.
