Republican gubernatorial candidate Tudor Dixon says some teachers in Michigan are exposing young students to inappropriate sex ed materials. She made the allegation at a campaign event in front of the state Capitol

Dixon called Governor Gretchen Whitmer a “radical” who answers to “far left elites” who want to indoctrinate children. Dixon offered no instances of this happening, but called for a ban on teachers talking to kindergarten through third grade students about sex eds, sexual orientation or gender identity.

She said the issue is not LGBTQ rights:

“This is about keeping sex and gender talk away from our children. Parents know their children best and they love their children more than random bureaucrats.”

Dixon faces a large gap behind Whitmer in polls and in fundraising with the election six weeks away.
