Pine Rest opened its Psychiatric Urgent Care Center in April. It’s designed to meet patients with acute needs providing assessment and treatment for symptoms including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, disturbing or suicidal thoughts, grief and substance use disorders.
Pine Rest reports as a first of its kind in the region, nearly 1,400 patients from Kent County and nearly 460 from Ottawa and Allegan Counties have accessed the center.
The Psychiatric Urgent Care multi-disciplinary team has met with patients from 52 of Michigan’s 83 counties. The mental health care has also attracted patients from 13 states and Canada.
